The cost of food waste to the foodservice industry not only hurts the bottom line but has a detrimental impact on the environment. However, one of the key issues that arises when it comes to tackling this problem is the lack of visibility of what is going in bin, how much of it is wasted and why. Kitchen staff need tools that accurately measure their food waste without disturbing their daily routines. The Merrion, Dublin have embedded their sustainability agenda into their core values and activities. Peter Wilson is announced as Avalon House Hotel General Manager as they join Original Irish Hotels
The beautiful 19th-century manor house in the centre of the heritage town of Castlecomer sees Peter Wilson join as General Manager, in addition, the Avalon House Hotel are now the newest member of Original Irish Hotels.
The four-star boutique hotel recently underwent a €4 million redevelopment ensuring that every historic detail of the property was restored and where new elements have been added they have been done so sympathetically to the original period and architecture. The result is an exquisite 30-bedroom country idyl offering guests a luxurious haven yet just twenty minutes from Kilkenny City.
Taking the helm of the property is seasoned hotelier Peter Wilson as its first General Manager. Peter has a wealth of hospitality experience spanning over
Bertie Bear and his cousin Charlie Bear always come to stay at The Europe Hotel & Resort around Christmas time. As well as the family getting together, the two cousins like to do something to help others less fortunate. One morning they decided to take a walk through the Gap of Dunloe and talk about who they might help this year.
