The study of the impact of the Shared Taxi Project, concludes that sharing this means of transport is the most intelligent in many ways, not only economic. The data obtained belongs to a real case of the first company that adopts a corporate policy on this aspect of urban mobility.
The Project
Thanks to the project, the large company analyzed obtained a reduction in the number of trips of 26{33f4cc90d54a0e34c39d8ab57c08f707b70599c47ef694b31f148add915d7130}. In absolute numbers, it avoided performing 4,626 “repeated” races, with a decrease in energy consumption corresponding to 69,390 km less, and an estimated emission of 8.5 tons of CO 2. With the Zurich airport to Saint Moritz transfer experiment, the result happens to be the best.
Throughout 2017, the distribution between individual taxis and shared taxis maintained a proportion close to 50/50. The Connection
The cost per km of an individual passenger is 3.75 times higher than that of 4 passengers. The functionality allows connecting employees in an automated way in a time slot of 10 minutes maximum and less than 1 km away.
- Efficiency is also possible thanks to the management since larger taxis can be found in the fleet each time. For example, in Zurich there are taxis of 6, 7 and 9 places since the middle of last year.
